Heavy trash drop-off...

the piece below came out of the trash in April, 2009. it looked like the pieces above, the door was falling off, wheels were missing...after some TLC, it turned into a beautiful new piece!

my new office...I spent less than $25 re-doing this room (not including paint) with thrift store, garage sale and trash finds.

Thank you to Randy Smith, Speedway Schools, for a piece of the original bleachers from Speedway Jr. High School. I'm so thankful for this little piece of Speedway history! My daddy attended the Jr. High, back in the day it was the high school here in town...20 years later I attended the same school, now 3rd generation Albright kids are attending Speedway Schools. It makes me very proud!

We use items found in the trash to repurpose into other items; teaching ways to recycle and repurpose items that might ordinarily be thrown out. I will walk through a project step-by-step from start to finish, using items such as drawers, scrap wood, cans and other miscellaneous household items, to create a new, usable item for another generation of use.

I specialize in rescuing furniture and other items from landfills and repurposes them, completing them with custom, unique painted finishes. I want to teach viewers how to take garage sale and roadside finds and repurpose [refashion] them into functional art.

Episode 2:

this footstool was made out of drawers from an old desk. it was supposed to be for my office, but my daughter took it for her room! It's got 5 inch foam on top so it's great extra seating! Click the Don't Throw That Away tab for more photos.
